Hear the difference. A threat says: if you do X, then Y. This sentence does something else entirely — it announces a decision already made.
The US War Secretary said it plainly: war is not an option on the table, it is a choice that has been made. "We will do whatever it takes."
And here's the part most people miss: when he says "engaging the US military," he doesn't mean shooting at an American soldier. Striking regional countries. Hitting ships. Clashing with escorts. That IS engaging the US military.
The conclusion is unambiguous: the military option has not been set aside in any way.
