The Islamic Republic sees itself as the Safavids. History says: Qajar. For years, regime theorists have insisted their era mirrors the Safavid golden age — Shia rule, regional power, imperial greatness. The record says otherwise: ▪️ The real parallel is the Qajar dynasty — a long, steady story of a shrinking, weakening Iran. ▪️ The last time Iran physically lost territory was under the Qajars — not because enemies were strong, but because rulers were incompetent. ▪️ A state that cannot recognize which fight it is too small for will keep entering wars it cannot win. ▪️ You don't pick a fight with everyone. That lesson still hasn't landed. And now the "chalice of poison" sits on the table with no one left willing to drink it. Khomeini drank and survived politically; today there is neither that authority nor that cohesion — only a fragmented, feudal-style power structure. Which is why the Qajar ending is no longer a warning. It's a trajectory. Safavid or Qajar? Tell us in the comments. منبع / Source: https://youtu.be/mBBtGjyCqUM?t=249
