That line from the U.S. Treasury Secretary isn't a prediction — it's a verdict. Global demand for oil through Hormuz is falling, and the one card the Islamic Republic kept threatening the world with is expiring.
Look at the logic: hit tankers, seize tankers, stand at the mountain pass and tax everyone who passes. "This is our turf."
That is Qajar-era logic. Pre-Reza Shah Tehran, where every street had a strongman and a cleric collecting their cut. Reza Shah broke that system and built a central state and a national army.
Today the logic has gone backwards — a nation of millennia reduced to a toll collector at a waterway that is about to be worth nothing.
