Every regime relies on four core pillars: legitimacy, efficacy, elite consensus, and the apparatus of repression. The Islamic Republic has lost the first three. Today, it stands entirely on a single surviving pillar: its repression machine. For this final pillar to fall, one of two things must happen: 1. Loss of the WILL to repress — when armed personnel refuse orders to crush the public, as seen historically in Egypt, Bangladesh, or Iran in 1979. 2. Loss of the CAPACITY to repress — systematically degraded by persistent citizen resistance inside and synchronized international pressure outside. The only barrier remaining between the Iranian people and a democratic transition is this repressive apparatus.
