Why does a regime fear a single date? September 16. Days from now marks the anniversary of the state killing of Jina Mahsa Amini — arrested by the "morality police" while visiting Tehran with her family, dead while in their custody. The protest began on Argentina Street, outside the hospital. It spread to Saqqez, her hometown. Then to the entire country: the Woman, Life, Freedom uprising — one of the proudest movements in modern Iranian history. The regime did not fall. It repressed, and it shot people dead. But socially, the uprising won: "Women took the streets back from the Islamic Republic." And now security forces are being deployed across Iranian cities ahead of the anniversary. A government afraid of remembrance knows exactly what it has lost. Tell us how you see this year's anniversary in the comments — and share this with everyone who hasn't forgotten. منبع / Source: https://youtu.be/no2G6zy7JXE?t=2220
