He compares Iran to the swamp near his childhood home in South Carolina: you'd take a machete to a poisonous snake, but the tail kept wiggling — so you had to bury the head, because the venom was still there.
Then the line that says everything:
"The snake doesn't know it's dead yet, but it will stop wiggling when the sun goes down."
