Since 1908, when the first well struck oil in Masjed Soleyman, Iran has been a continuous supplier of energy to the world. A land endowed with such immense natural wealth that raw natural gas literally burns in the courtyards of rural homes. Yet today, through catastrophic mismanagement and systemic isolation, this historic industry has been paralyzed to a complete standstill.
