Layer six: we, against the forgetting. Five layers settled before us. The Zagros farmer, the steppe rider, the plateau weave, tongue and blood, the imperial chancery. The sixth is in our hands. Someone wants to take it. 2026, on the plateau. Three weeks past the violated US and Israel ceasefire (April 8); sixteen weeks past the Dey Month massacres. The genes settled. Three thousand years of continuity in this plateau, Copper Age through Sassanid, traceable in ancient DNA (Amjadi et al., 2025). History came and went. The genes settled. That is the body. The structure, the memory, can be stolen. Persepolis, on a fifty-cent daily budget, is eroding (Stimson, 2023). In 1995, the Supreme Leader called it an «example of falseness». The Sivand Dam flooded the tombs at Pasargadae. Not accident. Not neglect. Policy. Charshanbe Suri, Esfand 1404, was placed under direct suppression. The regime named it a «pre-Islamic relic» (Iranwire, 2026). Sizdah Bedar followed. That same night, on rooftops and in alleys, the fire jumped anyway. Iran of many. Jewish, Zoroastrian, Armenian, Assyrian, Bahai. Since 1991, a Supreme Leader's office memorandum has codified the suppression of Bahais: education, employment, property, all denied (UN OHCHR, Feb 2026, Mai Sato report). Each is a living layer. None alone is all of Iran. The «Shia Muslim Iran» trap: collapse six layers into one frame, erase the rest. We refuse the frame. Dey Month 1404, sixth through ninth, left between twelve hundred and two thousand dead (HRANA, Feb 2026; NCRI, Mar 2026). Thousands of names are on no list. An empty notebook beside a cuneiform tablet. Memory is the witness. In that same Esfand, in the shadow of war, the fire jumped. On the plateau and in diaspora, around the Nowruz table, three generations. The Shahnameh page, a parent's hand on a child's. The home is the living archive. Not race. Not purity. Not «Shia Muslim Iran». Six layers. Many faiths. One homeland. Here. In your hand.
