"That red carpet is dripping with blood."
I was asked what I think about Mohsen Namjoo's return to Iran. Here's the headline:
The Islamic Republic rolls out a red carpet for certain people — and blood drips from it. The blood of those killed in the streets.
Ordinary Iranians travelling home? That's their life, no issue.
But when a public figure — someone whose voice carries — steps onto that carpet while the regime is still killing protesters, they become part of the regime's show. The invitation isn't an accident. The calls are made, the stage is set, the image is manufactured: "everything is normal now."
They should know exactly what they are walking on.
