The Week (March 7, 2026): 'Was Esmail Qaani, the man with nine lives, executed for being an Israeli Mossad spy?' Azernews: 'IRGC Quds Force Commander Esmail Ghaani reportedly detained over espionage claims.' The National (March 2026). Nex24. Unlike the previous package (the defector / asset hypothesis), this is an internal-scenario hypothesis: he was executed by his own side. If it were true, the messages attributed to him in March and April 2026, and the reported Baghdad visit of April 19-20, 2026, reported by Reuters, Jerusalem Post, and Long War Journal but with no verifiable photos, would all have been done by others in his name. Nex24 reported in March that Qaani's 'return' video on March 31 was actually recycled footage from October 2025. Critical caution: Türkiye Today (April 2026) reported, 'Iran denies execution of Quds Force chief Qaani.' Iran officially denies it. No Israeli official source has confirmed it. This is a theory reported by media, not a proven fact. If it were ever confirmed, what would the story be? Not a battlefield collapse. A rot in the room. A regime that cannot trust the commander of its own terror network. A regime that forges instead of announcing. But more importantly: an internal purge is not justice. Tishreen is open.
