Gas prices doubled — and 11 million ride-hailing drivers in Iran are paying the difference out of their own dinner table. Before 1979, Iran's income per capita was growing roughly 10% a year. After that, it collapsed and never recovered. Every year, purchasing power shrank. Every year, goods got more expensive. And every year, as the clip puts it, "the Islamic Republic filled its own pockets a little more." The bill for wars in Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen and beyond was never paid by the decision-makers. It was paid by ordinary Iranians. Now, a government at odds with nearly the entire world and out of allies has been forced to raise fuel prices. Filling a single tank now runs $2–$5 — double what it was recently. For a driver whose car IS their income, that's not a number. That's erasure. This poverty wasn't an accident. It was a policy. What do you pay for fuel where you live? Tell us below.
