4% versus 91%. That gap is our shame.
Fewer than 4–5% of Iranian-Americans turn out to vote. In midterms, even fewer. Meanwhile, mosque communities in the same cities turn out at 91%.
Then we wonder why no one in Washington listens to us. Votes that don't exist don't get counted.
And the line that lands like a hammer:
"People in Iran walked unarmed into fifty-caliber fire. The very least we can do is sit down and cast a ballot."
If you're in Iran: ask every relative in the U.S. who is a citizen to register and vote.
If you're in the U.S.: no more excuses. Nobody else is going to carry this for you.
